U.S.
Green Building Council
Atlanta Chapter
Welcome!
The
Atlanta Regional Green Building Council, a partnership between
Southface and the U.S. Green Building Council, was formed
in November 2001 to advance and promote sustainable and environmentally
responsible planning, design, construction and operation of
the region's buildings, landscapes, cities and communities,
mindful of the legacy left for future generations.
Our
goal is to facilitate green building for users, agencies and
companies; and to foster cooperation and collaboration among
organizations dedicated to environmental responsibility and
sustainability.
The
USGBC definition of Green Design:
To
significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings
on the environment and on the building occupants, green building
design and construction practices address: sustainable site
planning, safeguarding water and water efficiency, energy
efficiency, conservation of materials and resources, and indoor
environmental quality.
| Mission: Through
consensus process, and by drawing on the experience
of stakeholders in the building industry, we will:

that are |
