This past Monday, September 22, Southface joined the solar advocacy community to celebrate the progress and benefits of solar in our state, nation, and the world. Sun Day was created to push for the progress needed, but also to celebrate how far clean energy and its advocates have come. We were so glad to see everyone who came out to support each other and have their own efforts celebrated!

This Sun Day included a tour of The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design, a networking cocktail hour, and several inspirational comments from our speakers:

Comments reflected on the history and philosophy of Sun Day, the beginnings of clean energy in Georgia, and looked forward to advancing progress. Southface hopes attendees felt inspired by this gathering of solar advocates, and commends them for their contributions in making our communities more sustainable and more supportive.

Many thanks to all the partnering sponsors of this celebration, including EDF Action, Environment Georgia, GA Solar, Greenlink, Climate Action Campaign, Moms Clean Air Force, Cherry Street Energy, Velo Solar, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience.
