Denise Quarles is the Head of External Affairs for the Southeast Region for Siemens USA, where she partners with Siemens leadership to establish public policy and government affairs priorities while spearheading the company’s public policy positions at the state and local level.
Prior to that, Denise served as Chief City Executive for the Southeast Region for Siemens USA, where she served as a liaison for local governments to help plan the implantation of smart city infrastructure and technology projects throughout target cities. Before Siemens, she held roles including the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability for the City of Atlanta, VP of Environmental Affairs at Southwire Company, and Executive Business partner and Operations Manager at Daimler AG.
A passion for collaborating with local and governmental organizations for proactive change led to her work in environmental, community, and government relations; implementing smart, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure initiatives that reduce cost and waste while improving the overall quality of life.
She serves on the board of directors for the Greenhous Accelerator and the Siemens Foundation and is a past board member of the U.S. Green Building Council of Georgia.
Denise holds an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University.
She most recently became a WELL Accredited Professional, the world’s first building certification that focuses exclusively on human health and wellness, extending her commitment to sustainability to include the inside of buildings, providing a better quality of life for an organization’s most important asset, its people.
