Celebrating 2025: Southface Institute’s Winter Solstice Recap

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us or supported us in any way for Southface Institute’s 2025 Winter Solstice celebration. It was a meaningful way to close out the year: reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new members of our community, and reflecting on the milestones of 2025 while looking ahead to the ideas, plans, and opportunities on the horizon for 2026.
2025 Fulcrum Award Winners

We also want to once again thank our 2025 Fulcrum Award recipients, the Georgia Forestry Foundation and Jamestown LP. Their work exemplifies the innovative, locally grounded market solutions that this award is meant to highlight—particularly through their leadership in advancing mass timber in Georgia. If you’d like to learn more about their impactful and forward-thinking work, we invite you to read our previous feature on this year’s awardees.

A special thank-you goes to our incredible PIN Fellows, Heavonly Boykin and Perrin Brady, who shared thoughtful updates on their time at Southface so far. Their dedication and behind-the-scenes support were instrumental in making Winter Solstice 2025 (and so much more) run smoothly, and their contributions have been invaluable throughout their fellowship. As their time with us wraps up at the end of January, they will be greatly missed—we’re excited to see what’s next for them and grateful to have been part of their journey.

We hope we can see you at our future events in 2026 like Summer Solstice, our Sustainability in Action Round Table (SART), and our 2026 Visionary Event. Check out additional event photos below to relive the evening here!
