Georgia Audubon Installs Bird-Friendly Film at Southface Institute

(ATLANTA, GA.) August 12, 2020 – Visitors to Southface Institute on Pine Street may notice some new, tiny dots adorning the glass on the building. These dots are special window treatments designed to prevent birds from flying into the windows, an all too common problem. The project was made possible thanks to a partnership between Southface and Georgia Audubon, with a grant from the Disney Conservation Fund.

Chicago Housing Authority Achieves First-Ever BIT Building™ Certification

ATLANTA – April 1, 2020 – Today, 60 organizations across Georgia called on Governor Brian Kemp to take immediate action pursuant to his authority granted under the state’s emergency management act to ensure utility customers remain connected to essential electric, gas, water, sewer, and telecommunications networks, both during and after the coronavirus emergency. W&A Engineering’s Historic Athens HQ Achieves EarthCraft Certification
Office’s EarthCraft Light Commercial FitOut status is the first in Athens

ATLANTA, GA – February 26, 2020 – W&A Engineering has completed the rehabilitation of a 10,000 square foot, 118-year-old mill building for use as its new headquarters. As part of that project, the company pursued EarthCraft Light Commercial (ECLC) FitOut, a green building certification developed by Southface Institute as part of its EarthCraft program. W&A’s certification is the first in Athens and only the second in the Southeast under this category.
