2026 Georgia Energy Code Task Force
Georgia’s statewide energy code is being reviewed for update at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) this year, and Southface is proud to be a part of the process thanks to support from our state energy office, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). Mike Barcik is a member of the Georgia Energy Code Task Force, a group of 17 stakeholders in the state tasked with reviewing the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for its adoption in Georgia. The Task Force will meet regularly at DCA’s office through April of this year, with a final recommendation for the Energy Code due to be submitted in July. During this time, members will provide recommendations to approve or amend the existing code language for adoption as our future statewide residential and commercial energy code.
The Energy Code Task Force meetings are open to the public, and stakeholders are able to submit their own suggested amendments to DCA until Friday, February 20, 2026.
