An active affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council, Southface provides services for the LEED® program and guidance for other green building goals.

Who is Southface Green Building Services
Mike Barcik - Senior Research Engineer and the Director of Technical Services at Southface. He is a LEED® faculty member and has expertise in energy performance modeling, codes and building diagnostics.
Frank Burdette - Green Building Services Project Manager. He has 15 years experience as a residential and commercial contractor, whose most recent projects include Georgia’s first LEED®-registered school campus for Woodward Academy.
Dennis Creech - Executive Director and co-founder of Southface; has served as Executive Director for over 25 years. He is a nationally recognized leader in the energy and sustainable development fields.
Candice Moore Groves - Green Building Services Project Manager. She is a Registered Architect and has experience in a wide variety of commercial building types including office, hospitality, medical, civic, religious and education.
David Wasserman - Senior Engineer at Southface. He has over 20 years experience with Oak Ridge National Lab. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and experience in energy and materials research and program management.
Paulina Vastakis - Green Building Services Project Manager and the Southface liaison to the Atlanta Chapter USGBC. She holds two bachelor degrees, one in architecture specializing in city planning and the other in sociology specializing in urban studies.
Marisa Wilson - Green Building Services Project Manager. She is a member of the USGBC Emerging Green Builders National Committee and manages LEED® documentation for projects ranging from IKEA to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Most Southface Green Building Services team members are LEED® accredited professionals.
