Dear Reader

This issue of the Southface Journal has a different look because we have included the program for the Greenprints Conference as part of the publication. This is part of our efforts to “green” the conference by economizing on our publishing and related resource costs. Think of it like the two kids who get chocolate in the other’s peanut butter, and vice versa.

Highlights in this journal include a feature article about the Atlanta BeltLine, which corresponds to the opening keynote at the Greenprints Conference by Terri Montague, President and CEO of Atlanta Beltline, Inc.. The BeltLine is the biggest smart growth endeavor by any city in the United States, so this address should not be missed.

As in years past, this Greenprints conference features a full menu of talented professionals presenting the latest trends and techniques in the expanding green development field. In its 9th year, Greenprints is known as the place where building science and design professionals come to learn, share and network with other professionals in a stimulating, interdisciplinary environment.

We hope you enjoy this Journal and the Greenprints Conference.

Dear Greenprints Participants

Welcome back! It’s a pleasure to have you here with us for Greenprints 2007, our ninth conference focusing on sustainability.

Southface and GEFA are proud to offer opportunities to those who are new to building green and those who are pioneers in the field. This conference was designed to stimulate interaction among participants and to challenge all to not only consider but also implement practices that will ensure an environmentally sustainable future.

Whether in the individual sessions or walking through the green tradeshow, we encourage all participants to both teach and learn from each other.
We thank you for being here and for all that you do to advance sustainable practices.

Enjoy the conference!

Sincerely,
