Curriculum
Greenprints is pleased to announce our conference curriculum and specifically our renowned keynote speaker Ed Mazria. Ed will discuss his work with the Architecture 2030 Challenge - the effort to make all new and renovated buildings carbon neutral by the year 2030.
In addition to Greenprints standing tracks: Residential, Commercial and Communities, our 2009 theme track focuses on the “Green Cities” movement. Taking the cue that all sustainability is local, major American cities are making great strides toward sustainability. The Green Cities track includes sessions on the Governor’s Energy Challenge, Agrarian Village Development, The City of the Future and Urban Agriculture. This track will strive to answer sustainability questions from the personal to the global perspectives.
Each track features a Master Speaker in sessions targeted for maximum exposure and attendance. In the Commercial Track, conference favorite Joe Lstriburek will demonstrate how to make our energy models more accurate and our final products more efficient. Peter Yost will speak in the residential track on the latest building science and construction techniques and Ellen Dunham-Jones will present her community research on urbanizing the suburbs.
Ellen’s presentation is also part of a new feature in the Greenprints conference - The ULI Conference within a Conference. This joint conference, on the morning of March 26th, includes sessions on real-world delivery of green. These sessions will highlight all aspects of green development delivery including the pro forma, cost and financing of Melaver Development’s award-winning Oakland Park project.
Also, be sure not the miss the popular Communities Charrette. The Communities Charrette is the culmination of a highly anticipated annual competition for the best opportunity to showcase sustainable community design in an existing regional project.
Mark your calendars today to join Southface, the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority, ULI, Ed Mazria and all our presenters for the 2009 Greenprints Conference, March 25th and 26th at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. |
