presents fifth annual ARGON AWARD to Jim Jacoby of Atlantic
Station, Pam Sessions of Hedgewood Properties
Atlanta (March 3, 2004)
The prestigious Argon Award will
be presented to commercial real estate developer James “Jim”
Jacoby and residential community developer/home builder Pam
Sessions, on March 17 at the sixth annual Visionary Dinner.
The event, co-sponsored by Southface Energy Institute and
the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, is from 6 to 10 p.m.
at The Westin Peachtree Plaza. Presented by Southface, an
educational nonprofit promoting environmentally sustainable
communities, the Argon Award is given to a Georgia-based business
or institution which has made a significant commitment to
environmental stewardship. Past recipients include Ray Anderson,
Arthur Blank, Emory University and R.E. Ted Turner.
The Greenprints Committee, comprised
of Southface staff who produce the March 18 & 19 Greenprints:
Sustainable Communities by Design conference, selected Jacoby
and Sessions to receive the 2004 Argon Award for their outstanding
dedication to environmental, or “green,” building
and real estate development. In addition to supporting Southface
and the EarthCraft House program, both Jacoby and Sessions
are leaders in their industries, pushing forward the trend
of green building and “smart growth” development.
The Argon Award is not the evening’s
only highlight. The Visionary Dinner also includes a keynote
address by Fetzer Vineyards President Paul Dolan who will
speak about how sustainable business practices can lead to
successful bottom line.
The Home Depot Foundation is title
sponsor of the 2004 Visionary Dinner. Additional support from
SunTrust, Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc. and Whole Foods
Market.
