Jacoby Development, Atlantic Station to present fourth annual ARGON AWARD to Ted Turner at 2003 Visionary Dinner

Atlanta (February 5, 2003)

The prestigious Argon Award will be presented to Ted Turner, vice chairman of AOL Time Warner, on February 12 at the fifth annual Visionary Dinner co-sponsored by Southface Energy Institute and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. The Argon Award, presented by Jacoby Development and Atlanta Station, is given to a Georgia-based business or community leader who has made a significant commitment to environmental stewardship.

The Greenprints Committee, comprised of Southface staff who produce the Feb. 13-14 Greenprints: Sustainable Communities by Design conference, selected Turner to receive the fourth annual Argon Award for his outstanding dedication to environmental causes. In addition to supporting environmental efforts philanthropically, the Turner Foundation organizes volunteers that help improve Georgia's waterways, including the Chattahoochee River.

Capturing his stance on the issue of preserving the environment, Turner said, "I see the fields of environmentalism and population as nothing less than ensuring the survival of the human species."

The evening of the Visionary Dinner, when the Argon Award will be presented, also includes a keynote address by Lester R. Brown, who will speak about the perception of water as an issue of public importance and water's role in the region's economic growth.

In the past, Jacoby Development and Atlanta Station have presented the Argon Award to Ray Anderson, Chairman, Interface, Inc.; Dr. William Chace, President, Emory University; Ray Suarez, Journalist and Arthur Blank, co-founder, The Home Depot.

The Coca Cola Company is title sponsor of the 2003 Visionary Dinner. Additional support comes from WorldSpan, SunTrust, Chattahoochee Hill Country Alliance and Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc.
