U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL SEEKS NEW LEED™ FACULTY AT GREENPRINTS 2003
ATLANTA, July 12, 2002
Greenprints 2003 will be the testing ground of new faculty and workshop modules for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEEDä green building rating system. Southface Energy Institute is collaborating with the U.S. Green Building Council to answer the high demand for LEED educators by organizing a track dedicated to auditioning new faculty and programs. Six LEED proposals will be selected as potential training modules from abstracts submitted for 2003 Greenprints Conference, February 13 - 15, 2003. USGBC representatives and Greenprints attendees will evaluate the presentations for final selection of LEED faculty and training modules.
Topics include, but are not limited to; LEED issues for specific building types, market sectors, professional disciplines, and regions as well as specific topics within LEED categories and credit areas. Following selection, the USGBC will work with the presenters to schedule approved modules in conjunction with the USGBC Introductory LEED Training Workshops nationwide. "LEED is changing the way we design and operate buildings. The addition of new faculty members and modules at Greenprints 2003 will help meet market demand and speed the transformation toward better building practices," says Christine Ervin, USGBC President and CEO.
Abstracts for the LEED faculty and other Greenprints presentations are due August 9, 2002. For more information, visit www.greenprints.org.
