Veteran Education Benefits

"The process was seamless. I found the courses online, sent a few emails and my veteran education benefits were accepted by Southface. I didn’t have to deal with the payments or anything.”

- Jack Wynn, Veteran

Southface accepts education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from those who have served in the military, who are currently on active duty, or are dependents of a disabled or deceased veteran for over 90 percent of Southface courses.

Welcome Veterans

At Southface, we respect the commitment our servicemen and servicewomen have made to our country. We welcome veterans to our training facility and are here to provide support and services to veterans and their families as they pursue higher education and training in sustainable green building.

Veteran Services at Southface

Veteran Services at Southface is not a division of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), but serves as a liaison between students and the VA. Southface’s purpose is to assist veteran students and their dependents with the processing of VA forms, to advise students on certain requirements, and to certify enrollment of Southface veteran students to the VA.

Prospective students who have served in the military, who are currently on active duty, or are dependents of a disabled or deceased veteran may qualify to use education benefits through the VA. Read on to see how!

Getting Started

Contact veterans@southface.org to inform us of your intent to use benefits (please include a phone number). A School Certifying Official will contact you to collect all the information needed to reserve your seat in one of our trainings.  - Do not register for trainings through our website until you have received your Certificate of Eligibility and contacted veterans@southface.org.

To activate your benefits, visit the Apply for Benefits webpage on the VA website to begin your application process. Be aware that the application and VA approval process can take time to complete. We recommend beginning the application process at least two months before the scheduled training date.

After completing your application and gaining approval from the VA, you will receive a “Certificate of Eligibility.” You must send this to Southface to complete your registration for the training.

Types of Benefits

The Department of Veterans Affairs administers a variety of education benefit programs. Veterans, active duty personnel and their dependents can qualify for these benefits. Eligibility and type of benefit are determined by the VA. Southface does not determine eligibility or types of benefits awarded. To view the available types of benefits, see below:
