Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable – May 2014
During the most recent real estate cycle, 50 percent of Atlanta’s metro area development occurred in walkable urban places. The fourth largest of these developments, the Cumberland Community Improvement District, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) are increasingly important for placemaking and walkable, sustainable urbanization. Cumberland CID Chairman Tad Leithead discussed the Cumberland CID’s successes as well plans for transit, continued urbanization, and, of course, the new Braves stadium.
