Reliable is Proud to Offer ENERGY STAR Verified Installation in Georgia

Green Building

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), many utilities have prescriptive rebate programs that offer incentives for high efficient HVAC equipment. But nearly half of all heating and cooling equipment in U.S. homes never performs to its advertised capacity and efficiency due to poor design and incorrect installation. This means homeowners pay higher operating costs over the life of the equipment and utilities may not be realizing their deemed energy savings they had anticipated.

In an effort to address this situation, the (EPA) has created the ENERGY STAR™ Verified HVAC Installation (ESVI) program. In partnership with Southface and the EPA, Reliable Heating and Air, a leading HVAC service provider, proudly issued its first ESVI Certificate to a homeowner in Acworth, Georgia earlier this year. The Certificate includes the 24/7 HVAC monitoring service, ReliableGuard, which is an upgrade from traditional maintenance plans.

The newly launched ESVI Program guarantees that the HVAC installation process relies on skilled workers and competent HVAC technicians and that installed systems are verified for proper performance. ESVI is a national program that relies on regional sponsors such as Southface to develop and administer guidelines. Sponsors also perform quality assurance on participating contractors to ensure that HVAC installations are up to ENERGY STAR’s standards for maximum performance. The program helps protect the environment, while increasing homeowner comfort and reducing the cost of energy bills.

“Southface is proud to be an ESVI sponsor,” said Steve Herzlieb, Southface Senior Project Manager for Education and Technical Assistance. “As a regional sponsor, we can further develop the EPA guidelines to address issues we know are common in this market and to incorporate advanced HVAC technologies such as ReliableGuard. Reliable is doing a great job providing quality service to their customers and promoting awareness about the ESVI program.” The program is currently looking at 300 homes, with opportunities to grow.

Reliable Heating and Air owner, Dan Jape, is passionate about providing the best service and energy-efficient products to homeowners. An HVAC industry veteran since 1978, Jape is proud to be a part of the ESVI Program.
