Georgia Commercial Energy Code
This workshop focuses on the scope, application and methods of demonstrating compliance with ASHRAE 90.1-2007 and IECC Chapter 5 with Georgia amendments. Attendees will also learn building science basics, the content of ASHRAE 90.1 Sections 5-11 and strategies for more efficient building envelope, HVAC and lighting systems. The workshop will also include an overview of COMcheck software, developed by the Department of Energy to demonstrate compliance with the commercial energy code.
Georgia Residential Energy Code
Effective January 2011, Georgia's residential energy code is the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) with Georgia amendments. Southface offers trainings on the Georgia energy code, covering topics such as building science fundamentals and how they inform the requirements of the 2009 IECC; the basic structure of the 2009 IECC; compliance pathways builders can use to meet the requirements in the 2009 IECC; mandatory requirements of the energy code (including new duct and blower door testing requirements); and all of the relevant Georgia amendments to the energy code.
