Southface offers this full-day training to help industry professionals learn strategies for designing and renovating high performance, efficient facilities. The course discusses building science-based efficiency techniques and reviews the major industry programs like LEED and ENERGY STAR. 

High Performance Building – Operations and Maintenance is a course designed to familiarize attendees with operational strategies to improve operational efficiency in buildings.

Southface has partnered with the Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs (ADECA) to provide a series of Energy Code and High Performance Building workshops in cities across Alabama in 2010 and 2011. The High Performance Building workshops focus on building design and operational issues, while the Energy Code workshops are applicable to both residential and commercial builder audiences.

Southface’s EarthCraft trainings are presented in conjunction with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and provide homebuilders, renovators, architects, project managers and real estate professionals with the information they need to understand and implement the EarthCraft family of programs.

Taking this course is the first step toward becoming a Certified Home Energy Rater authorized to administer the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) developed by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).
