DET Verification
This course is designed to introduce the skills necessary to become a certified Duct and Envelope Tightness (DET) Verifier, able to perform the diagnostic testing required for new homes by the 2009 and 2012 IECC Georgia amendments.
This is a one-day course when taught on-site at Southface and a two-day course when taught in Alabama and Chatanooga, Tennessee.
ASHRAE 62.2
As of January 1, 2013 BPI will accept either ASHRAE 62-89 and the BAS, or ASHRAE 62.2-2010 for accredited contractors and programs to demonstrate compliance with ventilation standards. The ASHRAE 62.2-2010 training prepares participants for BPI’s adoption of AHSRAE 62.2-2013.

Building Science
This course is designed to provide participants with a practical knowledge of basic building science principles. Students are introduced to the "house as a system" model for assessing and improving building performance, as well as the fundamentals of heat, air, and moisture flow as it relates to buildings.
Combustion Safety
This course introduces participants to the components of safe combustion and combustion safety testing and inspection techniques for residential combustion appliances. The course utilizes nationally recognized procedures developed by the Building Performance Institute (BPI).
