RADON
Radon, an odorless, invisible, radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.
Commonly originating from granite deposits like those found in many parts of Georgia and throughout the U.S., radon gas infiltrates millions of homes through the soil. As a subcontractor to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs under the EPA State Indoor Radon Gas grant program, Southface promotes radon testing, radon mitigation, and radon-resistant construction in the state of Georgia.
For information about how to test your home for radon, what to do if your home has radon or how to prevent radon from entering a home, see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.
