RADON
Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas known to cause lung cancer. It is produced by the breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home.
As a subawardee under the EPA State Indoor Radon Gas grant program, Southface promotes radon testing, radon mitigation and radon-resistant construction in the state of Georgia.
For information about how to test your home for radon, what to do if your home has radon or how to prevent radon from entering a home, see our Frequently Asked Radon Questions (FAQ) page and the radon library page, or contact the Southface Radon Hotline at radon@southface.org or 1-800-745-0037.
