Twice a year, Southface members gather to network and celebrate the summer and winter solstices with the Southface staff, and friends old and new.

Join us on Thursday, December 15 to celebrate the holiday season with Southface members and friends. During the event, we present our annual Award of Excellence and Volunteer of the Year Award to honor individuals and organizations who have helped make this year exceptional. We'll also raise a glass to outgoing co-founder Dennis Creech.

Solstice admission is free for Southface members.

Mix and mingle with Southface staff, members and supporters in our organic garden in Midtown. Enjoy music, refreshing drinks including Southface Sangria and appetizers.

Complimentary Solstice admission is included for Southface members, including employees of corporate members and Sustainability Circle donors.

EarthCraft Breathes New Life into Decatur Green Homes

Green certified home renovations are sure to become more common in Decatur starting this spring, thanks in large part to the research efforts of Southface’s EarthCraft team.
Last month, Southface conducted preliminary energy and cost-savings analyses of three recently renovated homes pursuing EarthCraft Renovation certification as part of the implementation of the City of Decatur’s “High Performance Building Standard,” requiring all new construction and commercial renovation meeting certain thresholds to be certified under a green building standard.

Georgia Tech’s Living Building Reaches Milestone

The Living Building at Georgia Tech has reached a major milestone, with the approval of the schematic design. Approved by Georgia Tech’s Planning and Design Commission in December, the schematic design essentially provides a working blueprint for what is anticipated to be the most environmentally advanced research and educational building ever constructed in the Southeast.
